HISTORY
The beginning of TAGC was indeed miraculous !
After a meeting in Anchepalaya, Pastor Sabu was invited to pray at a small gathering. Among them were a Hindu couple who were barren for eight years. They tried everything, but in vain. When the doctors gave-up hope, they even attempted some Hindu rituals. When all else failed, they sought the face of God. Pastor Sabu shared the Gospel at the meeting and the couple accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior. He earnestly prayed to God for a miracle in the life of Hari Prasad and Parvathi. God answered this prayer and Parvathi conceived that very month!
This miracle sparked the fire. The church had a humble yet promising beginning at Bethel Assembly of God as their Hindi wing. Pastor Sabu and his family along with five new believers who were born-again and baptized gathered to worship at the Hindi service. God saw the faithfulness of his people and rewarded them. His Spirit was on the move and more people were added to the congregation. There was growth! However, this growth came with oppositions, persecutions, financial problems, and other obstacles.
At that time, when Pastor Sabu was residing in Sultan Palya (R.T Nagar) in their newly constructed house, God unexpectedly challenged him to move to the other side of Bangalore. For three years as a family, they prayed and sought God’s will to guide them for the right time and place. In March 2005, God clearly instructed and directed them to move to Vaderahalli in Vidyaranyapura Post which only an isolated village with no decent living conditions. There were no houses, stores, or even roads in this area. Yet, when God specified “this is the place” where He wanted them to move to, they unhesitatingly obeyed.
Faith in God is what guided Pastor Sabu and family. Trusting in God, he sold the house and property to purchase the land of 4,000 square meters in the year 2006. Upon this, they moved into a leased house in Gangamma Circle while the construction of the new church began. They conducted the worship service in that house with only a living room, one bedroom, and kitchen.
Even with this congested and unfavorable facility, the TAGC’s services continued faithfully. Therefore, God honored His people’s faithfulness. July 28th 2007, TAGC’s church hall was completed and dedicated for the glory of God for the purpose of His Kingdom. The then superintendent of the Central District, Late Reverend Dr. T.C George with other council members were present to celebrate this joyous occasion
Today, TAGC conducts four services every Sunday. The Malayalam service, followed by the Hindi service is held at the main building while the Hindi/Tamil service is held at the branch in R.T Nagar, and finally a Hindi service in Jigani. Their calendar is packed with Ladies Meetings, Youth Meetings, Children’s Church, Cottage Meeting, and Fasting Prayers which are all done for the glory of God! About 200 people gather from 13 different states and various language groups to worship God in unity and in harmony
Mission
Reaching the unreached – one person at a time
Through vibrant praise and worship, relevant preaching, passionate times of prayer, and allowing time in our services for the Holy Spirit to move freely, we see men and women step into all that God has purposed for them.
